Kathmandu. The United States and Iran have agreed to hold peace talks in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on April 10 to prevent war in the Middle East. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz, who is mediating the talks, confirmed the talks on social media X.
Iran has agreed to a two-week ceasefire after US President Donald Trump agreed to talks. Iran had submitted a 10-point ceasefire proposal to the United States.
US President Donald Trump threatened to “destroy” Iran on Tuesday night if Iran does not find a negotiated solution.
With the agreement between the two sides, the US President has postponed the planned invasion on Tuesday night. Iran has also said that it will stop the attack for two weeks.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US, including their allies, includes “Lebanon and elsewhere” and will come into force immediately, Al Jazeera news channel reported.
“I heartily welcome this prudent gesture, express deep gratitude to the leadership of the two countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, April 10, 2026 to hold further talks for a decisive agreement to resolve all disputes,” Sharif wrote on social media. ”
He stressed that both sides have demonstrated “remarkable wisdom and understanding” and are engaged constructively to advance the cause of peace and stability in this high-stakes mediation.
“We sincerely hope that the ‘Islamabad talks’ will be successful in achieving lasting peace and want to share more good news in the coming days,” Sharif said.
