Kathmandu. The single government of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has set a target of achieving an average economic growth rate of 7 per cent in the next five years.
The government has set this target as per the 18-point national commitments prepared as per the manifestos, manifesto and commitments of the six major political parties. The government is committed to formulate and implement national and sectoral policies on national capital formation, job creation, export growth and macroeconomic stability by forging national consensus among the major political parties on the economic agenda for economic transformation within a certain period of time.
The government has set a target to achieve 7 percent economic growth rate in the next five years to make Nepal a respectable middle income country and make per capita income close to $ 3,000 and gross domestic product close to $ 100 billion. The government has pledged to develop digital economy as a key area for economic growth, high productivity and quality job creation.
The government has also set a target to ensure stability in tax rates and terms for 10 years along with legal guarantees. The government has stated that a simplified digital system will be implemented to make all processes from registration to renewal of industries paperless and hassle-free.
The government has pledged to reduce multidimensional poverty to 10 per cent within five years by reducing socio-economic inequality through a balanced and complementary development model among private, cooperative and public sector.
The government has emphasized on financial transparency, control of money laundering, regulatory reforms as per international standards and effective implementation to free Nepal from the grey list. The government has committed to formulate a time-bound action plan to take the country out of the grey list.
