Kathmandu. Jamaat-e-Islami, the main party in Bangladesh, has announced insurance-based schemes for health care and workers’ safety in its manifesto ahead of the upcoming eleventh parliamentary elections. The manifesto of the Jamaat-e-Islami has promised to introduce national health insurance and digital health cards in a phased manner.
It is stated in the manifesto that the national health insurance will be introduced in a phased manner to ensure health services to all. This initiative can be used to provide faster access to health services, preserve medical information, and facilitate identity verification. The manifesto has pledged to form a student fund to assist students in the treatment of emergency and complicated illnesses and provide insurance to the students.
Jamaat-e-Islami has said it will expand the scope of the allowance program for workers who are suddenly unemployed. In addition, there is a commitment to provide employment insurance to provide financial assistance in case of loss of employment. This can benefit people with precarious jobs.
The Jamaat-e-Islami has called for the formation of a Financial Sector Reform Commission to restore discipline in the financial sector. The manifesto also pledged to reduce the non-payment of loans of banks and non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) as soon as possible.
The Jamaat-e-Islami’s manifesto has pledged support for the development of Islamic banks and the insurance sector. It has also proposed to increase the limit of tax-free income to Rs 5 lakh in a phased manner to make life easier for the lower and middle class.
