Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies in the current fiscal year 2082. As of the third quarter of 2018, about Rs 65 billion has been invested in various sectors.
According to the data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), 14 non-life insurance companies have invested a total of Rs 64.97 billion in various sectors. Out of this, non-life insurers have invested Rs 44.93 billion in fixed deposits of banks and financial institutions. In this way, 69.16 percent of the total investment of non-life insurers is in fixed deposits of banks and financial institutions.
As of mid-April, the private life insurers have invested Rs 39.76 billion in commercial banks, Rs 4.15 billion in development banks and Rs 1.01 billion in fixed deposits in finance companies.
Similarly, the insurers have invested Rs 93.83 crore in government bonds and debentures, Rs 5.44 billion in shares of listed public companies, Rs 4.66 billion in preferential shares, bonds, debentures and debentures of banks and financial institutions, Rs 1.61 billion in bonds and debentures of listed public companies, Rs 1.66 billion in mutual funds. He invested Rs 34.73 crore in shares of investment companies, Rs 1.79 billion in shares of other promoter shares and Rs 25.3 million in shares of unlisted public companies.
Similarly, the non-life insurers have invested Rs 1.10 billion in agricultural production and distribution, cold storage, tourism industry, hydropower, solar energy and other renewable energy projects, cable car, road, transmission line, education and health, and Rs 1.26 billion in other sectors.
