Kathmandu. MetLife and Global Citizen have launched a new global initiative to empower children and young people to become more active and confident through education and sport. Called “Footwork for Futures”, the social network-based contest invites people from all over the world to take part in a simple yet impactful initiative.
The primary objective of this initiative is to increase the participation of children and young people in education and sports as well as to improve their confidence and abilities. The program is expected to play an important role in expanding educational and sports opportunities, especially in developing countries.
To participate, people anywhere in the world can create a short football juggling video and post it on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok or X (formerly Twitter). When posting a video, you should use 3 hashtags.
For each eligible video submission, MetLife will donate $5 to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The maximum will be up to $1 million.
The money raised will be used to expand educational and sports opportunities for children around the world through various organizations. This initiative is part of the MetLife Foundation’s larger commitment. It has already pledged $9 million to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. It supports a variety of education and sports-based programs.
No special skills are required to participate in this challenge. Anyone can share a video of him trying to juggle football. This makes the initiative more inclusive.
The program will run from May 12 to July 19 or until the specified grant goal is reached.
However, the videos must comply with the respective social media platforms’ policies and the terms and conditions of the campaign. To be considered for a grant, a video must show a person safely juggling or trying to juggle a football.
If the criteria are not met, Global Citizen may disqualify any video.
