As per the data released by the Insurance Authority of Nepal (ANI), 14 non-life insurance companies have earned Rs 4.4 billion in insurance premiums by issuing policies of Rs 2.411 million. Previous fiscal year 2081. As of mid-April 2018, the companies had issued 23,58,511 policies and earned Rs 35.09 billion in total premiums. The company’s turnover increased by 14.81 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
The business of all 14 insurers has increased in April this year compared to the previous year. Himalayan Everest Insurance and NLG Insurance are ahead in terms of business growth.
Shikhar Insurance has earned Rs 5.19 billion in insurance premiums till mid-April of the current FY. The company had earned Rs 4.68 billion in total insurance premiums in the previous year. The company’s turnover increased by 10.90 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Himalayan Everest Insurance has become the second largest trading company in the world. The company has earned Rs 4.37 billion in insurance premiums till mid-April of the current fiscal year. The company had earned Rs 3.08 billion in total insurance premiums in the previous fiscal year. The company’s trade increased by 42.05 percent in the previous year.
Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance is the third largest businessholder in the world. The company has earned Rs 4.25 billion in insurance premiums till mid-April of the current fiscal year. The company had earned Rs 4.04 billion in insurance premiums in the previous year. The company’s business has increased by 5.37 percent in mid-April compared to the previous year.
Similarly, IGI Insurance has collected Rs 3.51 billion in insurance premiums, Siddhartha Premier Insurance Rs 3.49 billion, NLG Insurance Rs 3.44 billion, Neco Insurance Rs 3.18 billion and Oriental Insurance Rs 2.11 billion. Likewise, IGI Prudential Insurance Ltd (16.36 per cent), Siddhartha Premier Insurance (0.42 per cent), NLG Insurance (42.04 per cent), Neco Insurance (11.70 per cent) and Oriental Insurance (14.62 per cent) increased in the review period.
Similarly, United Ajod Insurance has collected Rs 2.47 billion in insurance premiums, Sanima GIG Insurance Rs 2.36 billion, Nepal Insurance Rs 1.81 billion, Prabhu Insurance Rs 1.49 billion, Rastriya Insurance, and National Insurance Rs 1.18 billion. During the review period, United Ajod Insurance Company Ltd, Sanima GIC Insurance Company Ltd (12.71 percent), Nepal Insurance Company (7.54 percent), Prabhu Insurance Company (4.40 percent), Rastriya Insurance Company (2.14 percent) and National Insurance Company (14.47 percent) increased in the review period.
