Kathmandu. The Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (CAN) in collaboration with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) conducted a one-day training on Cyber Security and Information (IS) Audit in Kathmandu today.
The training aims to reinforce the importance of cybersecurity and system audit in the capital market with increasing digital transactions. The program was attended by CEOs and IT heads of all member brokers.
Kumar Pudasaini was the chief coach of the training held at Everest Hotel. In addition, Nisha Timilsina, Head of IT Division of NEPSE, imparted hands-on training on IT systems and TMS.
In his inaugural address, NEPSE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chudamani Chapagain said that cyber security should be accorded high priority as the capital market is becoming more digital and automated with the rapid development of technology. “Regular IS audits and robust IT systems are essential to protect investor confidence, ensure data security and regulatory compliance,” he added.
Speaking at the program, Brokers Association President Sagar Dhakal said that the importance of cybersecurity is increasing day by day and all the stakeholders should strictly follow the security rules.
The concluding remarks of the program were delivered by Liladhar Subedi. He expressed confidence that such training programs will empower market participants in cyber risk management.
The program was hosted by Kulchandra Rijal. Nepse’s division chiefs Murhari Parajuli and Sagar Dhungel and IT chief Prabhakar Ghimire were also present on the occasion.
NEPSE has pledged to make the capital market more secure, transparent and technology-friendly through such capacity building programs. A total of 180 people attended the event.
