Kathmandu. Snowstorms have wreaked havoc in the United States. The storm’s effects are everywhere, and people continue to suffer. More than 1 million people in New Mexico are without power. More than 10,000 flights were canceled on Sunday.
The eastern two-thirds of the country has been hit by heavy snow, hail and bitter cold. As a result, the power supply has worsened. More than 10 million people are without electricity in their homes.

More than 80 percent of flights have been canceled at airports in New York, Philadelphia and several major cities in North Carolina.
Delta Air Lines said it would be operating limited flights because of the snowstorm. The airline also canceled more flights on Saturday to Atlanta and several East Coast cities, including Boston and New York.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy snow is expected from the Ohio Valley into the northeast of the United States from Sunday into Monday morning. Up to 18 inches of snow could fall in New England. According to the Department of Homeland Security, weather emergency has been declared in 17 states and Washington, D.C.
The Department of Energy on Saturday issued an emergency order in Texas to stop the blackout. This allowed the use of backup power sources in data centers and other large organizations. –agency
