Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has organized an interaction program on the roadmap related to risk-based capital and the insurance policy regulation process. The programme was conducted with the students of sixth and eighth semester of Bachelor’s level at Tribhuvan University’s School of Mathematical Sciences at the central office of the NRA at Kupandole today.
The program is organized with the objective of providing detailed information to the actuarial science students about the implementation status, timeline, effectiveness, international practice, stages of insurance policy development and approval process, along with a roadmap on risk-based capital.
Speaking at the program, Executive Director of Nepal Insurance Authority Sushil Dev Subedi said that the authority has been collaborating with Tribhuvan University in the study and research of actuarial science.
Executive Director Subedi said that there is a good opportunity for employment opportunities for actuarial science students in the country as the demand of actuaries is increasing in the country and every insurance company has a provision to appoint actuaries and actuarial analysts.
Dhruba Timilsina, Director of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), said that the role of actuaries and actuarial analysts is significant in the development, stability and business strengthening of the insurance sector.
On the occasion, Deputy Director of Insurance Authority Nirmala Malla presented a roadmap related to capital based on risk, timeline of implementation, effectiveness and role of actuarial, and Assistant Director Sudha Kafle presented on the steps of development of insurance policy and regulatory process.
On the occasion, students enquired about the necessity of actuarial in insurance sector, role and implementation status of risk-based capital in risk management, contribution of actuarial in development of insurance policy and employment opportunities.
Director of the School of Mathematical Science, Tribhuvan University, Nawaraj Poudel, program coordinator Keshav Raj Phulara and sixth and eighth semester students of Tribhuvan University, School of Mathematical Science participated in the program.
