Kathmandu. NLG Insurance Company Limited, Salyan Branch has organized a discussion and awareness program on agriculture and livestock insurance in Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality Ward No. 5 with the objective of expanding the insurance service at the doorstep of the farmers.
Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality Ward No. In the program organized at Ward Office of Ward No. 5, detailed information about the provisions of agriculture and livestock insurance, claim process and its importance was provided with the goal of bringing farmers under the ambit of insurance.
According to Sunil Shrestha, business coordinator of NLG Insurance Company Limited, the insurance program has been being conducted in the villages of the country to protect the farmers from natural risks and financial losses.
The chief guest of the program, Chudamani Reule, chairman of Ward No. 5 of Siddhakumakh Rural Municipality, urged the people to disseminate the information to every nook and corner of the country. He pledged to play an active role in bringing the farmers under the ambit of insurance by prioritizing insurance from the ward level in the coming days.
Mr. Anurag Bohara, Head of NLG Insurance’s Salyan Branch, thanked all the participants and gave clear answers to the queries raised during the discussions. According to him, the village-level health insurance campaign launched since the last few years has become positive and effective.
On the occasion, claims were distributed to 12 farmers under the agriculture and livestock insurance claims. In order to make the claim process more transparent and easy, it was also informed that the claim payment would be made available only through online medium from Magh 1.
The farmers were also informed about the 80 percent insurance subsidy provided by the Government of Nepal. A total of 40 farmers from different localities of Ward No. 5 participated in the program.
The program was conducted by Hari Bahadur Reule, agent of NLG Insurance. Ward member Jhuplal Bohara, livestock technician Tika Basnet and agriculture technician Tila Reule were also present on the occasion.
