Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NBA) has issued the Insurance Surveyor Directive 2083 BS. The Authority has issued this decision in exercise of the powers given by Section 166 of the Insurance Act 2079 as it is desirable to make arrangements for the proper assessment of the actual loss of the insured by ensuring their professional integrity, transparency and accountability by making the work of insurance surveyors systematic, competitive and credible.
According to this provision, the insurer engaged in the insurance survey should provide accident insurance to the insurance surveyor.
Similarly, the Insurance Authority of Nepal (IBA) has divided the insurance surveyor into Group A and Group B. Accordingly, the C class surveyor should submit a minimum damage assessment of Rs 250 million and a report of 300 surveys, while the ‘B’ class surveyor should submit a minimum of Rs 100 million damage assessment and 100 survey reports.
The limit for conducting the survey is 5 for the individual surveyor and a maximum of 10 reports for the institutional surveyor. The remuneration will have to be fixed in such a way that it does not decrease at the current rate.
