Kathmandu. Crude oil prices in Asia rose again on Friday morning due to rising tensions between the US and Iran.
Brent, the global oil benchmark, rose 2.6% to $102.70 a barrel. Crude oil traded in the US rose 2.3 percent to $97.
The US and Iran have exchanged fire on Hormuz. The US military has since said it would retaliate to prevent an “unprecedented” attack by Iran.
US President Donald Trump said that the 3 American ships that were attacked were destroyers. As a result, Hormuz was undamaged. Several Iranian small boats were completely destroyed in the retaliatory attack and missiles aimed at American ships were easily dropped. ’
On the other hand, Iran’s military has accused the US of violating the ceasefire.
