Kathmandu. The government has revamped and restored the electric system of public procurement (e-GP).
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has brought the system into operation from today.
The Software Development and Operation Centre under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers had shut down the e-GP system from September 26 due to the risk.
There is a legal provision that all public bodies should publish national and international tenders for construction work and materials purchase through this system.
According to the new system, bidders and suppliers will be able to submit proposals online or through hard copy. However, the work of opening and evaluating the bid will have to be done through the electronic system.
