Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies in the current fiscal year 2082. As of the second quarter of 2018, it has invested more than Rs 64.25 billion in various sectors.
According to the data released by the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA), 14 non-life insurance companies have invested a total of Rs 64.28 billion in various sectors. Out of this, non-life insurers have invested Rs 46.51 billion in fixed deposits of banks and financial institutions. In this way, 72.35 percent of the total investment of non-life insurers is in fixed deposits of banks and financial institutions.
As of mid-January, the private life insurers have invested Rs 41.31 billion in ‘A’ class banks, Rs 4.19 billion in ‘B’ class banks and Rs 1.35 billion in ‘C’ class financial institutions.
Similarly, insurers have invested Rs 63.35 crore in government bonds and debentures, Rs 5.36 billion in listed public companies, Rs 3.15 billion in preference shares, bonds, debentures and debentures of banks and financial institutions, Rs 1.91 billion in bonds and debentures of listed public companies, and Rs 1.51 billion in mutual funds. He invested Rs 17.21 crore in shares of investment companies, Rs 2.74 billion in shares of other promoter shares and Rs 2.74 crore in shares of unlisted public companies.
Similarly, the non-life insurers have invested Rs 1.10 billion in agricultural production and distribution, cold storage, tourism industry, hydropower, solar energy and other renewable energy projects, cable car, roads, transmission lines, education and health sectors and Rs 1.14 billion in other sectors.
