Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung visited the Nepal Police Headquarters on Monday and directed the police personnel present there. Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Additional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police and senior police officers welcomed Home Minister Gurung at the Nepal Police Headquarters. On the occasion, he laid a wreath at the Amar Police Memorial at the Nepal Police Headquarters premises.
Home Minister Gurung monitored the museum, digital forensic lab, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Analytics Cell, Data Centre and Polygraph section of Nepal Police Headquarters and enquired about the activities there.
After the inspection, Home Minister Gurung addressed the police officers and constables present in the program virtually and virtually gave instructions to the police officers. On the occasion, he said the Nepal Police has been discharging its responsibilities in an excellent manner despite limited resources and directed the police personnel to discharge their responsibilities more confidently in the days ahead. He also said that there would be no interference from any level in the course of playing the role of the police.
Home Minister Gurung stressed the need for change in society’s perception towards police and stressed the need of bridging the gap between the citizens and police by addressing the problems of the citizens through polite speech, speech and behaviour. He also stressed the need for the police to make the best use of available resources for the service of the citizens by further strengthening the relations with the general public. Stating that the Nepal Police has to play a frontline role in disaster management, he said that the police would be equipped with more resources and necessary training would be arranged as per the need of the hour. Stating that the career development of police employees would be carried out on the basis of performance and scientific system, he said the government was committed to making the police technology-friendly and resource-rich as per the times by giving special priority to organizational strengthening.
On the occasion, Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha highly appreciated the professional role played by each police personnel in making the election to the House of Representatives a historic and peaceful one.
He also said that the capability displayed by the Nepal Police during the election has proved that the Nepal Police is capable of carrying out its work in any environment. Stressing on the need to perform in a different manner than in the past, he directed all the police personnel to deliver their service promptly and effectively with high morale.
On the occasion, Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki said that Nepal Police has been faithfully adhering to the spirit of truth, service and security within the national and international standards of human rights and rights stipulated by the constitution and laws.
Stating that the efficiency of the police would prove the effectiveness of the state and address the people’s expectations in a real way, he said he was very encouraged by the availability of resources as well as the capacity, efficiency and morale of the human resources associated with the organization as well as the very important, timely and professional directives received from the Home Minister.
He expressed the belief that the succinct, timely and professional directives issued by the Home Minister would boost the morale and morale of the police employees working at the Nepal Police Headquarters and the police units scattered across the country.
Inspector General of Police Karki said the Nepal Police organization and all the police employees associated with the organization were committed to enforcing the prevailing acts and laws, protecting the life, property and constitutional rights of the citizens and guaranteeing law supremacy and peace and security to the general public.

He said that despite all the difficult circumstances, the hardworking members of Nepal Police have been steadfast in carrying out their duties in protecting the lives of the people, state property and democratic values.
During the inspection visit, Deputy Inspector General of Police Rajendra Prasad Bhatta briefed Home Minister Gurung about the identity, structure and development of Nepal Police, police human resources, unit number of police, physical structures of Nepal Police, statistics and current status of Nepal Police, working in temporary posts and units demanded for new establishment and upgradation, crime investigation data and analysis, police work, disaster management, traffic management, He made an institutional presentation on international coordination and assistance, works carried out by the Interpol branch, foreign aid received, major works executed in the current fiscal year, challenges and problems seen in police action and mobilization, future course of action and expectations of Nepal Police.
Additional Inspectors General of Police, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, senior police officers, officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, chiefs and representatives of all 7 provincial police offices, Nepal Police Province Offices, various police battalions, training centers, Nepal Police, Highway Security and Traffic Management Offices, District Police Offices and its subordinate offices were present on the occasion.
