Kathmandu. Managing Director of Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Sushil Dev Subedi has said that the development of the insurance industry is impossible without the contribution of agents.
Executive Director Subedi said this while addressing the eighth national general convention of the Professional Insurance Agents Association of Nepal (National Trade Union Association) organized in Kathmandu today. “The insurance companies may have convinced you to become an agent,” he said, “But the Insurance Authority is ready to formulate the necessary policy to make the agent professional and to intervene if necessary.” ’
NEA has been making efforts to advance the insurance sector in coordination with insurance intermediaries (insurance agents, insurance brokers, third party facilitators). “We are trying to ensure the common Nepalis their property, liability and life security,” he said.
Therefore, this contribution of the agents is very important for the whole nation, to add a brick to the economy or to the entire service,” Subedi said. “The insurance sector is one of the fastest growing sectors in the service sector of Nepal,” he said, adding, “We all worked together to make this sector more energetic and proud. ’
In the end, Subedi wished for the successful completion of the general convention of the association. “The NRA is ready to work together with the new leadership of the agents,” he said.
