Kathmandu. Even though the Insurance Authority of Nepal is about to end the third week of September, the insurance companies have not been able to make public the data of the current fiscal year 2083. The data of the business done in the second month of 84 i.e. August.
The authority has been making public the business data of insurance companies on a monthly basis. The authority used to publish the data for one month at most between 10-12 of the next month. The authority has been collecting the business data from the insurer till the previous day through the insurance regulator Integrated Information Management System (IRMIS). The insurer has been entering the data into the IRMIS system through APIs.
Although the authority has received the updated details of the insurance premium collection, claim payment, claims due to be paid, etc., the authority has not published it yet.
The authority had also published the data of non-life insurer on September 18 and life insurer on September 24 for the current fiscal year. The data for the month of August was made public later than the regular month. Now the authority is delaying to make the data public again.
An official said that there was a delay in making the data public due to the agitation of the employees of the authority. “The agitation has stopped after the agreement today,” said the official, “The delay is also due to the work of verifying the data received from the insurer before publishing it.” The data will come within the next 2-3 days. ’
