Kathmandu. WhatsApp no longer wants to be limited to just one messaging app. Parent company Meta is preparing to convert it into a premium platform. The company is now introducing ‘WhatsApp Plus’. It’s basically a subscription service. Users will have to pay a fee for this.
Currently, this subscription plan has started rolling out for selected iPhone users. This beta has been discussed for the past several months. But now, for the first time, some users are getting access to it.
The most interesting thing is that the fake WhatsApp Plus app has been circulating for a long time. The app claimed to provide additional features to users, but was later found to be scammed. But now the company itself is launching ‘WhatsApp Plus’. Initially, the company itself discouraged people from using WhatsApp Plus. As a result, many user accounts have been blocked permanently.
However, the company’s new WhatsApp Plus feature is only available for select iPhone users and will be rolled out to the rest gradually. According to the news, those who have the latest iOS version of WhatsApp can see this option in the settings.
The focus is on making WhatsApp Plus more personalized and customizable. Basic features like messaging and calling will be free. However, those who want to change the look and features of the app will get additional features.
This new scheme will give users 18 new theme colors. Currently, WhatsApp’s interface is mostly green. However, with the Plus membership, users will be able to choose from purple, blue, red, yellow and many more. App icons can also be changed. The company is releasing about 14 new app icons.

WhatsApp is also working on grouping and chat management. For example, if someone creates a chat list called ‘Office’, they can change the theme, notification sound, and calltune for all Office chats at once. Currently, it should be done individually.
