After the Wall Street Journal report, Trump said, “The thing is, they need help with the delivery of medical supplies and other essential items. J.D. Vance asked for my opinion. I said okay if you want to do it.” The real issue is getting relief supplies to help sick people. ’

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, citing U.S. officials and sources familiar with the situation, that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance had sent a letter to Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei seeking to revive peace talks.

Neither Mohsen Rezaei nor the Iranian Foreign Ministry have yet commented on J.D. Vance’s letter. However, senior regional officials’ visits to Iran have increased in the past week.

This comes at a time when US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to resume war against Iran. – Agency
