Water level in small rivers in Sunsari, Morang and surrounding districts warns of significant increase

Kathmandu. According to the bulletin issued by the Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, although the water level in the major rivers of the country will be normal on Saturday, there is a risk of flash floods in some small rivers.

The water level in the small rivers flowing through Sunsari, Morang and surrounding districts is likely to increase significantly and there is moderate risk of flash floods on Saturday.

The Division has urged the locals and stakeholders to adopt necessary precaution as there is a moderate risk of flash flood in the small river banks flowing through Sunsari, Morang and surrounding districts.

The water level in the Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries, as well as the Kankai, Kamala, East Rapti and West Rapti rivers is below the warning level. Normal fluctuations in the major rivers of the country are forecast for the next two days.

Likewise, the water level in some small rivers flowing through Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces is likely to increase suddenly and the day after.
