Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has announced that he has reached a ceasefire deal with Iran. He said that now the cargo ship will start from the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf for free.
Later on Sunday, Iran’s deputy foreign minister also confirmed the agreement. The deal is expected to bring an immediate end to hostilities between Iran and the United States.
According to Al Jazeera, President Trump said that this agreement will open the way for free transportation through the Strait of Hormuz. The sea route has been largely closed since the US and Israel launched their attacks on Iran on December 28.
“The agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran has now been finalized,” Trump wrote on TruthSocial. “
“Congratulations everyone! I give full authority to open the Strait of Hormuz transit free of charge, and at the same time, announce the immediate lifting of the naval blockade of the United States of America. The world’s ships start their engines. Let the oil be transported!”
He later said, “This great agreement will bring peace and security to the entire region.” And he has hinted that a more comprehensive peace deal with Iran will follow.
President Donald J. “Too many presidents have tried to make peace with Iran, and all those before me have failed,” Trump said. For the first time, leaders in the region have found a president capable of achieving real peace. With the opening of the strait after the signing of the agreement on Friday for the purpose of removing explosives placed in the sea lane, oil will flow on both sides again for the region and the world!
Trump’s announcement came after Pakistani Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif said he would end fighting on all fronts, including Lebanon.
“After intensive negotiations, we are pleased to announce that we have reached a peace agreement between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Both sides announced an immediate and permanent end to military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon,” Sharif wrote on social media.
