Kathmandu. A U.S. federal judge on Friday struck down the Trump administration’s immigration policy. The policy made it difficult for immigrants from 39 countries to enter and live in the United States.

According to Reuters, Rhode Island District Court Chief Judge John McConnell Jr. said the rules were plunging people in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East into legal uncertainty. “The migrants were following the legal process,” he said. But their applications were put on hold for months because the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) did not process them. These policies were implemented without legal authority and were influenced by anti-immigrant sentiment. ’

In fact, USCIS enforced those policies when two National Guard soldiers were shot in Washington, D.C. Prosecutors say the attack was carried out by an Afghan immigrant.

US President Donald Trump said on social media that immigration from all Third World countries will be stopped permanently. So that the American system can be fully healed. ’

Trump then increased the number of countries under the travel ban to 39. The countries under the full ban include Afghanistan, Iran, Haiti, Somalia, Venezuela and Syria. –Agency
