Kathmandu. Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and SpaceX, has revealed that his company SpaceX has banned the use of Starlink’s internet service in Ukraine. Musk has accused Ukraine of violating Starlink’s terms of service.
Musk has claimed that Ukraine is using the service for military purposes. However, he denied that he was responsible for the problems with the US military-grade network, Starshield. There has been no official response from Ukraine to Musk’s latest claims. However, Serhiy Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, called Musk’s post “very strange”.
Earlier, Musk had denied allegations that he deliberately slowed down Ukraine’s internet connection speeds. Ukraine said the problem had disrupted its defensive military operations for more than a week.
After Starlink and StarShield internet speeds were restored, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on Twitter and thanked the United States. “This is critical to our frontline logistics systems,” he said. “It is also necessary to defend Ukraine against jet-powered Shahed drone attacks.” ’
The dispute comes as tensions between the US and Ukraine escalate over a Ukrainian attack on Russian oil infrastructure last week. – Agency
