Uber launches ‘Ride for Nepal’ campaign with Rs 50 lakh donation

Kathmandu. Uber has launched the ‘Ride for Nepal’ campaign to support the relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction efforts of Nepal’s flood-affected communities. Through the campaign, which runs from September 21 to October 20, 2026, Uber is connecting its mobility network to the National Disaster Relief Effort and calling on both passengers and drivers to participate in the humanitarian assistance campaign.

Under the campaign, Uber has pledged Rs. 50 lakhs to the Nepal Red Cross Society to help the flood-affected communities. It has committed to donate Rs. 50 lakhs. This assistance will be used for emergency relief materials, temporary shelter, and rehabilitation. In addition, Rs. 10 for every Uber Bike{ ride completed through the Uber platform during the campaign period. Rs. 10 for every Uber Cab{ trip. 20. The ‘Ride for Nepal’ campaign aims to link daily commutes to the relief and reconstruction efforts of disaster-affected communities. When a passenger books a ride through the Uber app and the driver accepts and completes the ride successfully, Uber will add an additional contribution to the relief fund with each eligible trip.

There will be no change in the fare paid by the passenger or the income that the driver will receive by participating in this campaign. The passenger will pay the same fare as before, and the driver will also receive the same amount as before. Uber will additionally contribute for each eligible trip.

Arjun KC, Founder and CEO of Taximandu, Uber’s strategic partner for Nepal, said that the active participation of both passengers and drivers is important during a disaster. He said, “‘Ride for Nepal’ is not just a campaign, it is an opportunity for all of us to come together and help in times of disaster. With every ride passengers book and every ride completed by drivers, Uber’s contribution to relief will increase. May each of our trips be a meaningful contribution to the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected areas.” ”

She noted that since Uber is an integral part of the communities it serves, the company’s responsibilities are not limited to mobility services. She said that Uber aims to contribute to the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected communities through its platform and resources, in partnership with the Nepal Red Cross Society.

Uber is urging all riders and drivers to join the campaign and help rebuild flood-affected communities.
