Kathmandu. The U.S. Virtual Embassy in Iran has issued a security alert for U.S. citizens.
The safety alert said road closures, public transport and internet disruptions continued in Rann. “The Iranian government is restricting access to mobile phones, landlines and national internet networks. “Airlines are limiting or canceling flights to and from Iran,” the notice said.
US citizens have been advised to consider alternative means of communication and, if it is safe, to leave Iran via Armenia or Turkey. Iran and the United States are scheduled to hold nuclear talks in Oman on Friday.
US President Donald Trump has threatened to take military action against Iran unless it reaches a new deal to limit its nuclear program. Iran has said it is willing to discuss the nuclear issue. But it will not negotiate on demands, such as limiting its missile program. –Agency
