Kathmandu. Two micro insurance companies have been appointed as chairmen of Himalayan Reinsurance Company (HIC) a month after the chairman of the board of directors fell vacant following a criminal case related to the promoter of Himalayan Reinsurance Company.
The newly appointed chairperson of Protective Micro Insurance and Liberty Micro Life Insurance has taken the oath of office from Chandrakala Poudel, chairperson of Nepal Insurance Authority. Begum KC has been appointed as the chairman of Protective Micro Life Insurance and Punya Prasad Parajuli has been appointed as the chairman of the board of directors of Liberty Micro Life.
Two of the five micro insurers — Guardian Micro Life Insurance and Crest Micro Insurance — are yet to be appointed.
