Kathmandu. Born in Lomanthang, Mustang, Tsering Dorje’s life grew up in a normal family. He was studying in a local government school and doing housework. Even though he studied in a government school, Tshering was excellent in studies. I didn’t have to be second in any class. He excelled in the district.

After completing his schooling, he went to Pokhara for higher education. As he passed the SLC examination with good marks, he was admitted to a good college with full scholarships. Encouraged by this opportunity, he continued his studies and work keeping in mind the family’s financial background. He got a job in the shop. Rs 15,000 a month. It made daily life easier. Since the shopkeeper had invested in a finance company, he appreciated his ability to do so and got a job in finance within a year, at a salary of Rs 35,000 a month. In time, the bank vacancy attracted him. He tried it and succeeded in getting his name out. He also started sending money to his family. He also completed his master’s degree.

Time was running out. Suddenly he fell ill. He went to the hospital for a check-up. Symptoms of brain tumor were seen. He started treatment. As his income was good, he took life insurance at a company where he was an agent with a college student. He received Rs 50 lakh from the life insurance company on the basis of brain tumor disease. The money facilitated the cost of treatment.

But, unfortunately, the good man became the beloved of God. The family was in mourning. In the meantime, a college agent friend completed the entire process of claiming life insurance and met the family with condolences. He handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 crore to the family for Tshering’s life insurance.

With tears in his eyes, Tshering’s father, with a grim face, took the cheque and signed the necessary papers. Tshering’s mother sighed and expressed her gratitude for her son’s family responsibilities not only when he was alive but also when he ascended to heaven.

Over time, Tshering’s family opened a tourist-focused hotel in Lomanthang to turn grief into power. The hotel was making good money. Every morning, Tshering’s parents began their daily routine by bowing to a photo of the former Tshering and a life insurance company. And now they are at the forefront of providing life insurance to every person in their village as an agent. They are happy with the memories and the income.
