Three and a half billion rupees collected in government fund for flood-affected people

KATHMANDU: The government has collected Rs 3.5 billion in the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund till Friday evening.

According to the information given by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle through his Facebook page, Rs 3.5 billion has been collected till Friday evening as cash assistance is being received from various sectors. According to Minister Wagle, about Rs 300 million has been collected through foreign currency cards.

The amount will be spent for the rescue, treatment and rehabilitation of the people affected by the flooding in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district.

The government has also provided the facility to deduct the amount deposited in the relief fund from the annual taxable income.
