Kathmandu. The list of big borrowers of 10 troubled cooperatives has been made public.
Issuing a notice, the Office of the Troubled Cooperative Management Committee under the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has made public the names of 10 big borrowers out of 20 cooperatives declared as problematic. The office has revealed the names of the borrowers who failed to pay the principal and interest of the loan time and again.
The office has informed the borrowers to contact the office and repay the loan as soon as possible. Otherwise, action will be taken as per the law, the office warned.
The office has made public the names of big borrowers of Ghedung, Hamro Sagarmatha, Tumhara, Citizen Welfare and Idea Nepal Multipurpose Cooperatives declared as problematic.
Similarly, the office has also made public the names of big borrowers of Nepal Cooperative Financial, Gautam Shree, Oriental Cooperative, Nepal Financial Cooperative, and Tulsi Multiple Cooperative.
The names of the remaining borrowers who have not paid the loan amount will also be made public gradually.
