Kathmandu. Reinsurance companies in the current fiscal year 2082. It has invested over Rs 36.45 billion in various sectors till the third quarter of 2018-19.
Currently, there are two reinsurance companies. One is the government-owned Nepal Reinsurance Company (Nepal Re) and the other is the privately promoted Himalayan Reinsurance Company (Himalayan Ree).
According to the data made public by the Nepal Insurance Authority, both the reinsurance companies have invested Rs 36.45 billion in various sectors till mid-April of the current fiscal year. According to this, Nepal Rico has invested Rs 18.07 billion and Himalayan Rico has invested Rs 18.38 billion. A large part of the investment of these two reinsurance companies is seen in the fixed deposits of the banks.
The bank has a total deposit of Rs 14.12 billion. As per the list, Nepal Relay has invested Rs 12.89 billion in commercial banks, Rs 260 million in infrastructure banks, Rs 850 million in development banks and Rs 125 million in finance companies.
Nepal Relay has a total of Rs 691.2 million in shares of listed public companies, Rs 1.54 billion in shares of banks and financial institutions, Rs 1.54 billion in bonds, debentures and debentures, Rs 56.47 crore in shares of Citizen Investment Trust and mutual funds, Rs 541.5 million in shares of unlisted public companies and Rs 600 million in other investments.
On the other hand, Himalayan Reel Bank has invested a total of Rs 11.89 billion in fixed deposits. All this money is in commercial banks.
Similarly, Himalayan Relay invested Rs 4.23 billion in shares of listed public companies, Rs 100 million in bonds, debentures and debentures, Rs 885.3 million in citizens investment fund and mutual funds, Rs 1.05 billion in shares of investment companies, Rs 225 million in promoter shares and Rs 4.7 million in other sectors.
