Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) is to conduct inspection and investigation into the activities of its agents.
The authority has made this provision by issuing a directive on insurance agents. As per the directive, the authority can now inspect or investigate the work of insurance agents at any time.
It shall be the duty of the agent to provide the documents, details and data requested by the Authority for inspection or investigation. The insurer will also have to submit the report in respect of the agent through the online portal within 3 months from the date of expiry of the fiscal year.
The directive has made a provision for the insurance agent to provide the identity card by disclosing the license number and other details issued by the authority.
