Kathmandu. The government has collected more than Rs 1.17 billion in royalty from 29 different mountains.
According to the Department of Tourism, it has collected Rs 1.17 billion as royalty from climbers for climbing mountains in the autumn season. These royalties were collected from March 1 to May 5, 2026.
According to the department, the government has collected the highest amount of royalty from the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. The government has collected Rs 1.01 billion as royalty for climbing Mt Everest.
A total of 127 groups have taken permission to climb 29 mountains this season. A total of 1,072 mountaineers, including 811 men and 261 women, have got permission to climb the mountains.
