Kathmandu. Now, the District Court has the authority to take action and settle the cases related to the offence as per the Insurance Act, 2079.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today decided to delegate this authority to the district court. With this, district courts across the country have the power to take action and settle cases found guilty under Section 140 of the Insurance Act.
Prior to this, the section of the Insurance Act did not give anyone the right to take action and settle cases of insurance offences. Now, the district courts have this right.
