The bank’s fixed deposits amounted to Rs. 674 billion insurers invest

Kathmandu. In the last one year, the investment of insurance companies in fixed deposits of banks has increased by about 6 percent.

According to the data of Nepal Rastra Bank, the current fiscal year 2082. Insurance companies have invested Rs 674.73 billion in fixed deposits of banks in the first 75 months of 2018. Previous fiscal year 2081. Insurance companies had invested Rs 635.57 billion in fixed deposits of banks till January 1982. The investment of the insurer increased by 6.16 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

Currently, there are 14 life insurance companies, 14 non-life insurance companies, 4 micro life insurance, 3 micro life insurance and 2 reinsurance companies.

Similarly, Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has invested Rs 183.71 billion in fixed deposits of banks till mid-January of the current fiscal year. The Fund had invested Rs 179.93 billion in the same period of the previous year. The investment of the fund increased by 2.10 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.

Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has invested Rs 132.76 billion in fixed deposits of banks in the review period. The fund had invested Rs 129.58 billion in the same period of the previous year. The fund’s investment increased by 4.77 percent.

As of the review period, the deposits of the general public stood at Rs 4.952 trillion. In the same period of the previous year, the deposits of the general public were Rs 4.246 trillion. The deposits of the general public have increased by 16.63 percent.
