Kathmandu. Thailand’s insurance regulator, the Office of the Insurance Commission (OIC), has modernized its data infrastructure with the help of NetApp.
Through this initiative, the OIC hopes to accelerate data processing, strengthen cyber resilience, and support its transition to digital and AI-enabled supervision. The NetApp data platform includes enterprise storage. Digital transformation and sustainability is central to the OIC’s goals and aims to become a digitally empowered data-driven regulator.
After the upgrade, the OIC has reported faster data protection and recovery. Database backup time was reduced by more than 90% and processes were reduced from hours to minutes without affecting the core workload.
The new architecture also supports higher availability and automated disaster recovery. Users also reported faster access and processing of data to core regulatory applications. The OIC describes claims data as essential to analyzing industry risk trends and supporting timely policy decisions. –Agency
