Kathmandu. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Reinsurance Company Surendra Thapa has been suspended after the District Government Attorney’s Office filed a corruption case at the Special Court on Thursday.
Thapa was suspended from the post of CEO of Nepal Ricoh after the Public Attorney’s Office filed a charge sheet at the Special Court on the basis of the report prepared by the investigation team formed by the Department of Money Laundering. Thapa, a permanent resident of Tansen Municipality-13 of Palpa, is currently living in Chandragiri Municipality-14, Kathmandu.
The charge sheet was filed as per Section 22 of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2064 and Section 32 of the Civil Prosecution Code, 2074.
The then government had appointed Thapa as the CEO of Nepal Ricoh in May 2, 2081.
Earlier, the Office of the Government Attorney had filed a charge sheet at the Kathmandu District Court against 81 people including Thapa on the charge of cheating the general public through organized activities in the stock market.
