Standard Chartered Bank plants saplings in Adinath Community Forest

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Standard Chartered Bank Nepal has planted saplings at the Adinath Community Forest in Kirtipur. On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, 500 saplings of fruit-bearing and flowering species were planted with the participation of 350 employees and local communities.

The initiative aims to promote greenery in local areas, support biodiversity, and contribute to long-term environmental sustainability.

The saplings were jointly inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Standard Chartered Bank Gorakh Rana and Chairman of Adinath Community Forest Users’ Group Kedar Basnet.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO of the Bank, Mr. Gorakh Rana appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the employees towards the protection of environment. “We are proud to share this,” he said. Over the years, our employees have helped plant nearly 40,000 saplings in Lalitpur and Kirtipur area alone. Each planted tree represents not only greenery but also our hope and responsibility to future generations. ’
