Kathmandu. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company has provided a cash prize of Rs 51 lakh to the victims of the floods in Bhotekoshi of Rasuwa on August 26.

A meeting of the board of directors of the company held on September 1 decided to deposit the amount in the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. As per this decision, the company handed over a cheque equivalent to the amount to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle today.

Similarly, the employees working in the company have collectively contributed their one day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. It has been decided to contribute a cash amount of Rs. 11 lakh.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and physical property in the flooded Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan among others, the company said in a statement.

This is not only the support of the company but also a small effort of support and sympathy towards the families who are in distress in this difficult time facing this difficult situation due to the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa. Since its inception, the company has been at the forefront of helping the nation during various crises, natural disasters and epidemics.

In addition, the need of the hour is to ensure the safe rescue of the flood-affected families and the rehabilitation of the homeless families at the earliest possible and the company extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families while expressing heartfelt tribute to the national and international citizens who lost their lives in this tragic hour.
