Kathmandu. An investment of Rs 4.60 billion has been collected for the 22.50 MW Jaldigad Hydropower Project to be constructed in Aathbiskot Municipality of Rukum West.
Nepal Bank (NBB) and Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) will jointly invest Rs 3.36 billion in the project to be promoted by Shangrila Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. The remaining Rs 1.23 billion will be invested by the promoters.
Chairman of Shangri-La Hydropower Khagendra Neupane and Chief Executive Officer of Rastriya Banijya Bank Devendra Raman Khanal signed the agreement regarding financial management of the project. Representatives of Nepal Bank and NIFRA were also present on the occasion.
The project is projected to generate 133.45 gigawatt hours of electricity annually. The construction period of the project has been fixed at 33 months. Most of the preparatory works including the purchase of land required for the project have been completed. Krishna Prasad Ghimire, managing director of the company, said that the construction work will be expedited as the financial management work has also been completed.

The group promoting the Jaldigad project has already constructed and commissioned the 4.55 MW Bikash Hydropower Project in Gorkha. The company had completed the project about 6 months ahead of schedule. Bikash Hydropower has already issued an IPO for general investors.
Similarly, the same group is constructing 4. 6 MW Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project in Gorkha. It aims to generate electricity within the next 6 months.
In this way, the experienced group has 22. Since the 50 MW Jaldigad project is to be constructed, it is believed that the construction of this project will also be completed on time.
