Kathmandu. The health insurance board has been deprived of health services for the past 20 days after the health insurance board failed to reimburse the Kalikot District Hospital.
The hospital has halted all its services under the health insurance since June 7, citing that it could not continue its treatment as the Board has not reimbursed the expenses incurred for the treatment.
The hospital has not received reimbursement of Rs 70 lakh from the Health Insurance Board for a long time. Apart from this, the hospital management has said that the service charge fixed by the board for the treatment, medicines, equipment and other rates are too low.
The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has issued a revised insurance package to reduce the cost of treatment. Other hospitals are also reluctant to provide the service, saying that this price is very low.
