KATHMANDU: US President Donald Trump on Thursday said that the United States has offered to provide all necessary assistance to Nepal in the aftermath of the floods in Rasuwa district of Nepal.
Speaking to reporters after signing the executive order, Trump said that the United States has contacted Nepal’s leadership and promised to provide all necessary assistance. He called the destruction “terrible” and said that he had never seen anything like this before. Trump said, “We have talked to Nepal and provided them with all possible assistance. We have a very good relationship with Nepal. What happened there was terrible. It was not just water but a dangerous mixture of water and mud. Which no one had seen before. Even strong and well-built buildings were swept away like a matchstick. ’
Trump said that the devastating floods in Nepal are a very tragic incident and the United States is sending aid. Trump said, “We have spoken to the leadership there and we are ready to provide any assistance that they need.” ’
According to Trump, a large number of US citizens were present in the flood-affected areas of Nepal, and the US has not yet received a full list of all the affected people.
According to the US State Department, about 90 US citizens have been affected by the floods in Nepal.
