Kathmandu. Kathmandu Region No. Rabindra Mishra has quit political politics after losing the election for the third time from Constituency 1.
Mishra, who had contested the election to the House of Representatives from the RPP, came third. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)’s Ranju Darshana won the election with 15,455 votes. In the same constituency, Nepali Congress’s Prabal Thapa Kshetra got 6,364 votes while Mishra got 3,972 votes.
In a post posted on social media today, Mishra said that he has quit party politics. “The decision I am making today is not taken out of despair, despair or haste. ’
According to him, the RPP has repeatedly failed to organize and capitalize the people’s mandate despite the massive mandate in favour of reinstatement of monarchy across the country. “As the senior vice-president of the party, I am also responsible,” he said.
“I am confident that the country cannot be saved and built for the future generation in the midst of changing geopolitics and deteriorating internal situation without the path of new understanding and structural review,” he said.
In this context, Mishra has taken the following two decisions:
1. I have tendered my resignation from all responsibilities of the party effective from today.
2. My position on the issues including the reinstatement of the monarchy and good governance will remain the same, and for the time being, I will continue to voice my views and positions as an independent non-party.
Mishra said that during his political journey in the last 9 years with unprecedented ups and downs, he has honestly tried for political and national transformation as much as he could. “That effort has not yet been seen as adequate,” he said, adding, “But we will not do anything that an individual gets and the country does not get by putting selfishness above the country.” ’
“It would not be enough to express my gratitude to the Nepalis at home and abroad for their support and support in this difficult journey all these years,” Mishra said. “I would like to congratulate and extend best wishes to the Rastriya Swatantra Party for achieving unprecedented success in the elections. ’
