Kathmandu. The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has been providing social security program for the current fiscal year 2082. During the first six months of the fiscal year, more than Rs 260 million has been disbursed to the depositors and heirs.
The fund has distributed a total of Rs 26.24 crore. According to the fund, 12,431 depositors and the heirs of the depositors have received the payment from the fund till mid-January this year.
Under the health treatment facility, 2,239 depositors have been provided Rs 7 crore 70 lakh 66 thousand under general illness and Rs 9 crore 14 lakh 49 thousand to 687 depositors for critical diseases.
Similarly, the government has provided Rs 68.5 million to 9,140 depositors under maternity and child care facility and Rs 1,136,000 to the dependent families of 284 depositors.
According to the fund, Rs 7.6 million has been provided to the heirs of 38 depositors under the accident compensation facility.
Likewise, the government has provided Rs 6.45 million to the families of 43 civil servants who died in service.
