Kathmandu. All health insurance services except emergency have been suspended in private hospitals.
The Health Insurance Board issued a notice on Tuesday (May 26) informing about this. As per the decision of the Board on May 26, all health insurance services except emergency have been suspended in private hospitals with effect from May 30.
The decision has been taken in view of the growing financial crisis of the Insurance Board. “All health insurance services except emergency provided by private health institutions affiliated to the health insurance programme have been suspended until further notice,” the notice reads.
With this decision of the Insurance Board, it will be more difficult for the insured to get health treatment. This decision is likely to increase the number of patients in government hospitals.
