According to Bishworaj Sharma, chief of Jomsom-based Civil Aviation Office, Tara Airlines has suspended its regular flight services from last week and Summit Airlines from Monday.

The Pokhara-Jomsom air service used to operate regularly in Mustang from August to November. According to Sharma, one of the three aircraft of Tara Air is being repaired and one of the four aircraft of Summit Air is being prepared for repair.

Suman Thakali, station in-charge of Summit Airlines in Jomsom, said that due to the devastating floods in Rasuwa and the blockage of the road due to floods and landslides in different parts of the country, the regular flights had to be cancelled due to the cancellation of bookings by air passengers. However, he said that the charter flights will not be stopped.

These two airlines operate more than 1,200 regular flights annually. –RSS
