Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah held a special meeting with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim today. He held a telephonic conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Ibrahim this morning.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Shah stressed on the need to make foreign employment between Nepal and Malaysia dignified, transparent and exploitation-free. He made it clear to his Malaysian counterpart that he and his government do not like the practice of syndicate and middlemen in the employment sector of Malaysia.
The Prime Minister made it clear that such impractical and unjust activities would not be acceptable and stressed the need of joint efforts for a permanent solution to this problem.
Taking the views expressed by Prime Minister Shah positively, Malaysian Prime Minister Ibrahim also clarified that he is against the system of syndicates and middlemen. He also expressed his commitment to direct his Labor Minister to coordinate with the Labor Minister of Nepal and start the work on this matter.
