Kathmandu. Pokhara—Padam Shrestha has been elected the president of Lions Club of Pokhara Mountain City for the year 2026/27. The annual general meeting of the club held at Hotel Dipsagar in Pokhara today elected a new executive committee under the leadership of Shrestha.
On the occasion, newly-elected president Shrestha thanked all former presidents, office-bearers, members and advisors for their support. He also pledged to carry out social service, human welfare and community development programmes through the club.
The chief guest of the program and founding president of the club and international advisor Lion Dolraj Pokharel recalled that the club was established with the motto of ‘Everyone does for themselves and do something for others’. He expressed happiness over the social role played by the club so far and assured all necessary support to the new working committee.
The AGM elected Lion Krishna Prasad Bhattarai as the first vice-president, Lion Nepal Prakash Adhikari as the second vice-president and Lion Kalyan Timilsina as the third vice-president. Likewise, Lion Shiva Prasad Rimal has been elected the Secretary, Lion Surya Prasad Pokharel the Joint Secretary and Lion Kul Prasad Adhikari the Treasurer.
Former presidents of the club, Lion Krishna Raj Parajuli, Mohdatta Bhusal, Naresh Subedi and Shakti Baral, among others, extended their best wishes to the new working committee.
The program was chaired by the current president Lion Bishnu Adhikari and hosted by Lion Naresh Subedi, District Zone Chairperson. The new working committee aims to come up with special plans in the field of various social and humanitarian services in the coming days.
