Kathmandu. ICT Foundation Nepal has successfully completed an orientation session under the Digital and IT-enabled Business Incubation Service (BIS) Program 2026 at Model College, Itahari, Koshi Province. The program is conducted in coordination with the Industrial Enterprise Development Institute (IEDI).
The program aims to provide incubation support to more than 50 early-stage startups. Under this hybrid model, which will run from March to June 2026, participating startups will receive one-to-one mentorship from experts, capacity building, business development and validation support, and investor readiness preparation services.
In the incubation program, 12 startup teams: Yes Digital, Snacks, Krishi Compass, Local Bazaar, Manthan, Medicab Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Ltd., Mero Safari, Mero Complaint, Mind Bridge, Safari Yatri, Sajilo, Utsav Events and Voltavi have been selected.
In the program, experts active in various technology and innovation sectors shared their experiences. Sanjay Poudel, Tech Lead of National Innovation Center, Chandra Acharya and Kshitij Dahal of Lunar Technology, Keshab Bhandari of Kingspire Technologies and Santosh Dhamala, Executive Chairman of Kafals, expressed their views on startup development, market expansion, investment preparation and practical challenges.
According to the organizers, the event aims to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem by promoting entrepreneurship beyond the Kathmandu Valley. The incubation initiative will help entrepreneurs refine their business models by providing them with direct interaction with industry experts, hands-on training, and networking opportunities.
The high-performing startups under the program will get seed investment support as well as participation opportunities in national platforms such as ICT Awards, Startup & Idea Fest, National Conclaves and AI Conferences.
ICT Foundation Nepal has been contributing to the promotion of regional innovation through Digital Karnali Conclave and Digital Madhesh Conclave in the past. The orientation session held in Itahari is seen as an important step towards expanding the startup ecosystem in Koshi State.
