Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have collected a total insurance premium of Rs 5 billion in the first month of the current fiscal year 2083/84. According to the data provided by the Insurance Authority, 14 non-life insurance companies have earned a total insurance premium of Rs 5.32 billion during this period.
The main income of non-life insurance companies is insurance charges. They earn profits by reinsurance from the insurance premiums earned, paying claims and managing the remaining amount. Since the business condition of the company is known from the insurance premium earned by the companies, it is seen with importance.
Himalayan Everest Insurance Company has collected the highest total insurance premium during this period. The company has collected a total premium of Rs 56.25 crore during this period. Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company has collected a total insurance premium of Rs 55.32 crore. NLG Insurance Company has collected a total insurance premium of Rs 53.46 crore.
Similarly, Shikhar Insurance Company collected a total premium of Rs 51.20 crore. Siddhartha Premier Insurance Company collected a total premium of Rs 46.76 crore. IGI Prudential Insurance Company collected a total premium of Rs 44.71 crore. Orient Insurance Company collected a total premium of Rs 44.37 crore.
On the other hand, Neco Insurance Company has collected a total premium of Rs 38.08 crore. United Ajod Insurance Company has collected a total insurance premium of Rs 33.23 crore. National Insurance Company has collected a total insurance premium of Rs 27.02 crore. Nepal Insurance Company has collected a total premium of Rs 25.27 crore. Sanima GIC Insurance Company has collected a total premium of Rs 24.03 crore. National Insurance Company has collected Rs 19.02 crore and Prabhu Insurance has collected a total premium of Rs 14.06 crore.
