Kathmandu. A meeting of the Nepal Non-Life Insurance Entrepreneurs Association held on August 3 expressed sorrow over the loss of life and property due to the devastating floods in Bhotekoshi on August 29. Expressing hope for the safe rescue of the missing people in the disaster, it has decided to express heartfelt gratitude to the rescuers of the government, security agencies, civil society and friendly countries who are working day and night in the rescue work.
The meeting has also pledged to pay the claims of the disaster-damaged projects, infrastructures, structures and human settlements with high priority once the details of the disaster-damaged projects, infrastructures and human resources are received.
Taking seriously the issue of the insurance companies contributing to the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the citizens in this natural calamity, a delegation led by the President of the Association Manohar Das Mul handed over the contribution amount of Rs 3.47 crore to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle in the presence of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company. The delegation handed over the amount to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle.
The contributors include Siddhartha Premier Insurance Company Ltd., Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Ltd., Nepal Insurance Ltd., Neco Insurance Ltd., Prabhu Insurance Ltd., United Ajod Insurance Ltd., Sanima GIC Insurance Ltd., Himalayan Everest Insurance Co. Ltd.
Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Ltd., Himalayan Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. and United Ajod Insurance Ltd. The contribution made by the employees of the company is Rs. 26,23,018.
NLG Insurance Ltd. and IGI Prudential Insurance have already handed over the amount while other companies are also in the process of contributing.
During the handover of the contribution amount, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle thanked the insurance companies for their support when the country was in crisis.
